Life Enrichment Center, LLC
The Life Enrichment Center (LEC), LLC was founded in Lawrence, Kansas in December
2000. Formerly the Comprehensive Eating Disorder Treatment Center in Southern
California, the goal of LEC is to provide high quality, accessible, and cost
effective treatment and education. LEC founders believe strongly in the need
for community-based alternative solutions for eating disorders and a variety of other mental health and life issues. It is the intent of C-BASED
Programs to reduce the need for cost prohibitive inpatient and residential programs.
We strongly believe in a self-directed recovery process that empowers
individuals to a sustained recovery.
As far back as 1997, LEC's co-founder Ed Bloch had dreamed of providing supportive
programming on the web. Originally conceived around disordered eating the web-based
concept has grown to include a variety of mental health and life issues. The
need for support in making life changes is well documented. Advances in computer
and internet technology make web-based support a true enhancement to an individual's
recovery process and life changing efforts. LEC, together with California based
website-builder and technology company Webolution, has developed an infrastructure
that allows LEC and its partners to develop and continue to enhance programs.

ZACHARY DAVID BLOCH, CHILD is featured in the Recovery Companion
logo. Why? What you see is Zachary's reaction to the first time he saw the Pacific
Ocean when we visited his family and friends back in our old home State of California.
We thought that Zachary captured the innocence and wonder of the pre-conditioned
human state so well that we felt it reflected what recovery can be when viewed
as a magical opportunity rather than a destination. And, as all loving doting
parents, we also thought he looked cute.
